This form can be used to create a template for a complete P3P policy document. The document created should not be used directly without a thorough review of each of the policy tags selected and a verification that it is not in conflict with a current written policy. The template produced does not utilize any non-standard extensions or data definitions. A complex site may require custom definitions and multiple policies in order to cover all the data that may be collected. This is not meant as a general purpose policy creator and so most of the options are hard coded based on our latest understanding of what would be the most typical for each case. Consequently sample policies can be generated with a single page form instead of taking you through a 30 step process. Please contact us if you think a different set of defaults would be more appropriate. Your final policy file should be installed to the location /w3c/p3p.xml on your server. The single file format should be used unless you have separate people generating different policies for their respective areas of control. A single file alows user-agents to retrieve the entire policy in a single request. |
